About the Project: A placement based Skill Development Training was provided by FISS initiated by the Government of Assam skill Development Mission.

Objective:

  • Encourage entrepreneurship in metal trades.
  • Update workers with latest metalworking technologies.
  • Promote sustainable metalworking practices.
  • Provide certification for skill validation.
  • Teach fundamental metalworking skills.
  • Promote safe handling of tools and machinery.

Impact: Metal-based skill development training lead to increased employment opportunities and higher productivity within the metal industry. It improved the quality, precision, and safety of metalwork while encouraging the adoption of modern technologies. Trainees gained the ability to start their own businesses, contributing to local economic growth. The training also boosted income levels, fostered innovation, promoted sustainable practices, and empowered youth and marginalized communities by enhancing their technical skills and confidence.

KAJI NEMU: A Model Marketing Initiative through Empowerment of Agripreneurs and Farmers of Tinsukia District

About the Project: For handling a trading business of Kaji Nemu in Tinsukia district, specific interventions have been designed in the form of project. The interventions are intended to make use of the potential of unlashing the benefit to the farmers through the entrepreneurial activities of agripreneurs, SHGs and local workers. To the realisation of such potentials in the context of weak marketing eco-system including trading logistics, the role of number of stakeholders have been envisaged in the form of knowledge partner, technology partner, marketing partner, funding partner and promoting partner so that planning, implementation and monitoring of the project become outcome oriented.

Objective:

  • Promote a marketing system in the district for handling Kaji Nemu as ODOP and benefit farmers, agripreneurs and SHGs involved in the supply chain.
  • Empower Kaji Nemu farmers, agripreneurs and SHGs with knowledge and skill.
  • Support agripreneurs with means and materials involved in the primary processing activities of Kaji Nemu.
  • Facilitate and hand-hold Kaji Nemu farmers, agripreneurs and SHGs in the formalization of their activities.
