Financial assistance for providing big dustbins in various schools/other locations in ONGC during Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign- 2023 to be observed from 15th September, 2023 to 2nd October, 2023

Schools

Objectives:

  • To maintain cleanliness and hygiene by managing waste pollution in schools.
  • To help to keep dirty and decaying waste separate from the rest of the clean surroundings.
  • To promote the process of recycling and reusing non biodegradable items.

Funding: Section 135 of Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013

  2. KG School, Sivasagar
  3. KG School, Lakwa
  4. KV ONGC Nazira
  5. KV Sivasagar
  6. Adarsh Vidya Nazira
  7. DPS Nazira

Outcome: Approximately 2015 students and teachers of 7 schools of Nazira, Sivasagar were benefitted from 120 nos. of green and blue dustbins. The dustbins are been used by the schools.

Financial assistance for sensitization of the school going children through Project SHARP (Student's Holistic Approach to Reduce Pollution) program in Geleky region of Sivasagar district of Assam

Schools

Objectives:

  • To promote cleanliness and hygiene in school campus.
  • To award best school and students for practising high level of cleanliness and hygiene
  • To encourage behavioral change in children, parents and community as a whole.

Outcome: Approximately 3508 students and teachers of 18 schools participated in Project SHARP. The best sanitation performing schools and students were awarded.

Award to schools: 3 out of 18 schools
Award to students: 3 in each schools
Award to teachers: 3 out of 18 schools
This project has inculcated good practises in sanitation

Financial assistance for cutting/cleaning of heavy and light jungle of Ligiripukhuri Yard, Nazira in Sivasagar district, Assam during Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign- 2023 from 15th September, 2023 to 2nd October, 2023 under "Garbage Free India"

Environment

Objectives:

  • To Protect and preserve the natural ecosystem of Ligiri Pukhuri Yard by enhancing the diversity of plant and animal species within the forest reserve.
  • To reduce the risk of wildfires through the removal of dry vegetation.
  • To enhance the visual appeal of Ligiri Pukhuri for the benefit of the local community.

Outcome: In ligiripukhuri area, heavy jungle was cut and clean in 2650 sq.m area light jungle in 3450 sq.m area. Importantly, the removal of various dumped items; material which are of inflammable character has made the environment of the area safe from fire and other hazard

Financial assistance for cutting/cleaning of Heavy and Light jungle of Lakwa (PSA) and additional work Ligiripukhuri Yard, Nazira in Sivasagar district.

  • To reduce the risk of wildfires through the removal of dry vegetation.
  • To enhance the visual appeal of ONGC Lakwa PSA Complex for the benefit of the local community.

Outcome: Under the project, 2882.5 sq.m area is freed from heavy and light jungle by cutting and cleaning. The local ecosystem thereby is made free from fire hazard and pollution.
